"Rest is not idleness,
and to lie sometimes on the grass
on a summer day listening to the murmur of water,
or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is hardly a waste of time"
~John Lubbock~
Hello,
When was the last time you took a few minutes to lie on the grass, or the sand or even sit in your car and look up at the clouds...to be lost with your "head in the clouds"?
It's something that I used to do alot as a kid and then with my own children. What shapes or animals could you see, and then try to see the shape that someone else was describing, from their perspective, same cloud, different eyes.
I often use the journey of cloud gazing, behind closed eyes, during a deep relaxation session of The Art of Non Doing / Yoga Nidra and also during my individual integrative relaxation sessions. Visualization can be difficult for some at first, so I suggest using a memory of a time or similar experience. Remember the colours, the smell, the feeling.
I would love to help you to take the time to rest, reset, be still, and feel great this summer through individual Integrative Relaxation Sessions AND take advantage of a group session of The Art of Non Doing (Yoga Nidra) too! So I'm offering you a chance to experience both. Purchase a package of three or more individual sessions with me, (either 60 or 90 minute sessions) and receive admission to one of my group sessions at Wilmington Yoga on either Sunday July 14th 6-7:30pm , Sunday August 11th 6-7:30pm or at Southport Healing Arts on Saturday September 7th 4-5:30pm. Just hit reply to this email and let me know which package and group session you would like to reserve.
What is most beneficial about these sessions, is not whether you see the images vividly, but that you have let go and given yourself permission to slow down, to take the time to be still and become aware of the space where everything is ok. You have turned off the constant barrage of external noise, media, responsibilities, pain, and often the ever present inner voice of symptoms, the critic or anxious worrier. Allow yourself to be still and experience the part of yourself which is steady and unchanging, to find a inner resource of lasting peace and clarity to stop the congestion, the spinning in your mind and your thoughts, your worries, your doubts and remember a more complete sense of who you are. It's great insight.
You will be ok.
There is nothing I enjoy hearing more from a client after an individual session than, "I don't know where I went, I was not consumed by my thoughts or pain, I want to go there again" or " I slept so well after our session, I haven't slept like that in months"
In my old ways of thinking, I wasn't sure that being good at doing nothing was something to be bragging about. LOL. But I've learned that doing nothing, regularly, consistently, in a mindful and intentional way can reduce stress and anxiety, reduce pain, promote better sleep patterns, maintain a sense of calm in stressful situations, to acknowledge and respond in a helpful way to situations or people that may trigger an old feeling, to gain clarity, to help manage depression and to live a more joy filled life.
And I want to share it with you.
